Volunteering
Investing in Volunteers award
We are delighted to have been awarded the Investing in Volunteers (IiV) accreditation – the UK quality standard for good practice in volunteer management.
Our volunteers are at the heart of our Charity and are supported by our volunteer managers to deliver our services and help people affected by lymphoma. Their time, expertise and dedication are integral to our work in making sure no one has to face lymphoma alone.
As an Investing in Volunteers (IiV) achiever, we have shown how much we value our volunteers within our organisation. The accreditation was awarded following an assessment of 6 areas of volunteer management:
1. Vision for volunteering
2. Planning for volunteers
3. Volunteer inclusion
4. Recruiting and welcoming volunteers
5. Supporting volunteers
6. Valuing and developing volunteers
Feedback from the assessments was exceptionally positive and demonstrates our commitment to investing in and supporting our volunteers.
Some key strengths that were identified by the volunteers include the caring, open and accessible culture of our Charity and the high level of support they receive through stewardship and information about their role.
Achieving the award was a collaborative process between staff and volunteers. Everything shared throughout compliments our vision for volunteering, which is that through a supportive and empowering volunteer experience, our volunteers will make the greatest positive impact for people affected by lymphoma.
“This is wonderful news, and we want to thank all of the staff and volunteers involved in the process. We will continue to develop and improve the volunteering experience to ensure that volunteers remain at the heart of Lymphoma Action.
Dallas Pounds, Director of Services at Lymphoma Action
